Raymond

Raymond is a fascinating individual—humorous, laid-back, and resilient in facing life's challenges. Our friendship, transcending age, inspired me to embark on a decade-long photography project. This endeavor wasn't just about documentation but truly immersing myself in his life, an experience that unfolded effortlessly.

The photos I take change with my growing understanding of both life and photography. The proximity and distance in my relationship with Raymond fluctuate. Sometimes, we meet frequently for meals and conversations. Other times, our busy lives mean seeing each other only after long intervals.

Over these years, this project has served as a profound form of companionship. I aimed to witness and record key moments as Raymond transitions into middle and older age. By consistently being part of his life, observing the impacts of his changing identity and psychological shifts, this ongoing relationship has granted me a unique perspective.
